The story behind the Domaine
Chateau Valmale is a magnificent old country domaine, completely restored to its former glory and lying in almost five acres of superbly maintained grounds. The Chateau has seven bedrooms, lounges and office room as well as seminar room. A fully equipped kitchen is set in a dependance that opens on the ground and allows parties and barbecue to be organised leisurely.
The Chateau and its grounds lie in the very heart of the famous wine-producing region of the Herault in Languedoc Roussillon, France.
Famous as much for the beauty of the grape whilst still on the vine as for the taste once fermented, the Herault boasts fields of vines spanning the countryside panorama. The vineyards are helped along in their perennial cycle of growth and harvest by an average 300 days of sunshine a year.

Recognise the names Faugeres, Cabrieres or St Chinan? All locally produced Herault wines and available to taste-test and buy almost straight from the barrel!
Located just outside the cathedral city of Beziers, Chateau Valmale benefits from its proximity to both the coast and the hills. The Mediterranean coastal towns of Agde, Marseillan, Meze and Sete are all close by, with their gastronomic maritime offerings of fresh fish and shellfish.

Coast is complemented by countryside with the ancient town of Pezenas and St Guilhem le Desert, renowned for their centuries old architecture or ramparts, towers, arches and narrow cobbled streets.
As you head into the foothills, you find Roquebrun with its serpentine hump backed bridges over the sweeping middle reaches of the River Orb, and Olargues .
Chateau Valmale offers you a taste of authentic French grandeur, with the opportunity to explore the rich history of the Herault region, play golf to your heart's content, or return home knowing the difference between a Syrah and a Merlot grape.
